Faster by Paulina Duque

Faster and faster runs the water through the streams. Fisherman is hoping to catch a little treat. Soon it is winter; the farmers grab their ginger so they have something to eat. You might find a feather in the snow, but that would be an interesting sight to see.

A Ghost Story by Katie

Today was a Wonderful Wednesday. I think our class should be called Ms. Hudson's happy class. Today we wrote a ghost story in Mr. Pile's creative writing class. Here's my ghost story:

Freak or Peak
One night it was rainy. It was a thunderstorm! I was alone in my room when my cell phone rang and I answered it. All I heard were sounds like "grrgliegoor" and then I openend the window to see if it was still raining but I kept my cell phone to my ear. Then a thunder bolt hit my phone and I fainted. When I woke up I was in a creeky old house where the electricity went out. I couldn't see much but I saw a black cat scurry on the floor and stairs. I walked up the stairs and noticed only one door in front of the stairs and I walked in. Then I noticed a little purse on the floor. I closed the door so if anyone was here they wouldn't suspect a thing. I walked toward the purse and opened it, nothing but a little sack of dust in it. Well fun was fun but I had to go home. I tried opening the door but it wouldn't open. I was locked! I saw the sack and took it from the purse and 12,000 freaky monsters came out from the sack! I ran into a closet and then monsters were knocking. I saw another sack and opened it. Little sparkling blue dots rose and tapped me. One gave me the power to fly. The rest gave me other powers: strength, shrink, grow, and bat super scream. I flew out from the closet and killed them all.

A Game at Recess by Declan Slattery

There is a game at recess called Vampires. People who were vampires tried to tag other people. I was on the ladder and I fell off. I landed on my face and got hurt. I am not good at that game. I will never play that game again. My personal experence was very painful. That game scares me! Maybe I'll write a vampire story about it in class!

Our week By Jamison

Today at recess I was playing keep away and I got the ball and ran and then I passed it to Andrew, then I played basketball and I won by 2 points. Today in math we worked on line graphs, it was really fun. I finished my rough draft for my Popcorn story. In library I got the book, QUARTERBACK SNEAK. Yesterday we picked our table names my tables name was The Recycling Dolphins, and we got to make a flag and decorate it. Today my Declan slid in the hallway. So far this week for table points we are tied for the lead with the Big Fluffy Bears. This week for jobs I am the blogger. Look for more posts from me; hopefully a video too!

Welcome 2010-2011 Students

Dear Students,
Welcome to Fourth Grade!!! I am so excited to be your teacher this year. I cannot wait to get to know each and every one of you.

Let me tell you a little about myself. I have been teaching at Laytonsville for three years now. I have been a teacher for 11 school years. I have taught 2nd to 5th grade! Fourth grade is my favorite because you get to study the Chesapeake Bay, Maryland, and Native Americans.

I live in Olney with my husband, Dave, son, Kelly, and dog, Jameson. I love to surf and my family is originally from Ireland; that's why we named our son Kelly. Kelly Slater is a very famous surfer. Kelly is also a popular boys name in Ireland. It means warrior. My favorite things to do are read, surf, hang out at the farmer's market, recylce, and spend time with my family.

I can't wait to hear all about you!
Love,
Ms. Hudson :)
